Commissioned by the Chœur de Radio-France, ANGES NUS
moves through clouds. Three eight-part choirs spread through space, move through a shifting harmonic field — rarely arriving, always transforming.
Melodies emerge and migrate from choir to choir, threading through the thickness. The voices carry no words: only vowels, though consonants emerge to underline accents, or with the agitation of
faster tempos and shorter note values. The title is an anagram of nuages with added s and n. It is a companion piece to LEURS SAUVAGES ECHOS.
Also available is a version with a small group of strings (3.3.2.2.2).
