Leurs Sauvages Echos

Program note

LEURS SAUVAGES ECHOS is a companion piece to ANGES NUS. Where that work dissolved into clouds, this one immerses itself in water. Commissioned by the Chœur de Radio France, it deploys three spatialized choirs whose voices fold and echo through the space, fluid and imbricated, never quite settling. The music builds and suspends, surges and dissolves, carried by a momentum that is always on the verge of disappearing. The title hides a secret: an anagram of vagues (waves), houle (swell), and ressac (surf).
